We Butter The Bread With Butter

We Butter The Bread With Butter is a German deathcore band. Mostly all of their lyrics are in German. I really love them. They are one of the bands that I learned how to do death metal vocals to, which is pretty good considering some of the stuff they do (like pig squeals).

The first We Butter song I heard was Schlaf Kindlein Schlaf, and right away I was hooked.
I think it was about a year ago when I discovered them.
They only have 2 albums, since they're pretty new, but I'll talk about them anyway.

Das Monster Aus Dem Schrank (2008)

This album has such great elements and definition in it, it's hard to believe it's their first album because it's so good. It seriously sounds like they've been doing this kind of thing forever.

Schlaf Kindlein Schlaf

Translates to Sleep Baby Sleep. The dual heavy guitar work is amazing, paired with the double-bass. Also, the synth/keyboard stuff gives it a modern edge. And the stuff he does with his voice is insane! I'd kill to have highs like that.

Das Monster Aus Dem Schrank

The song begins with only synth, and when the whole band comes in, it just launches into the song perfectly. The synth stuff really reminds me of video game music, it's rad.

Alle Meine Entchen

This song is so cool! Like, I hadn't heard it for a while after I discovered them, and when I did, I'm like, "Where have I been??" It's really good, especially with the guitar and pig squeals. Pig squeals are hard, not gonna lie; yet he pulls them off flawlessly.

I Shot The Sheriff

The only words in English in this song are "I shot the sheriff." This song is just a crazy fast heavy grinder, and the just random nonsense growling and squealing. It's awesome. This is one of those songs I use to scare hipsters. Like, I'll be listening to something metal, and they'll be like, "Ew." And I'm just like, "You think that's heavy? Listen to this."

Extrem

This song is a little bit funny. It is good, yes. It has the same kind of vibe as "I Shot the Sheriff," where it's basically just a crazy deathcore song that makes no sense whatsoever. The sole purpose is to be a fucking amazing heavy song, and they accomplished that.

Der Tag An Dem Die Welt Unterging

This album is even better than the first. It has so many new things, but also things they have done before. It flows perfectly, telling a story in the way it's put together.

Der Tag An Dem Die Welt Unterging

This song. Oh my god, it was my jam for the longest time. The rhythms in the voice and guitar at the beginning are so rad. Being the title track, it totally does justice to show you what the album's gonna be like. And the breakdown is orgasmic. Yes, I just used that word.

Alptraumsong

The song starts out kinda quiet with this 4 note minor pattern that sound so rad. And it continues throughout the song. Yet another amazing one. The things they do are just so unbelievable.

Der Kleine Vampir

The song is nothing like the others. It has a popy electro beat with synth. The lyrics are screamed, and there's some English in the chorus too. It's a good break from the constant ear pounding.

13 Wunsche

This song starts with the synth thing again, and you think it might be like "Der Kleine Vampir" again, but then it jumps back into the usual heavy beats. And the thing I love the most about it, is the lyrics are about a magical cow.

The thing that really puzzles me about WBTBWB is that they're not that popular. Not many people know them, and it's crazy because some of the stuff they're doing is crazy, no other deathcore band has done anything quite like this. And I love it, because every song has something different to offer. Some bands, it's like all their songs are exactly the same or sound really similar. With WBTBWB, you never know what's gonna happen next.
